Today was a bad day. Not just because it was April Fools. Dyleva woke up cranky, because the joke they had planned for their father was not going to work out. They wanted to tickle his face while he was sleeping, and put shaving cream in his hand. Splat!
Well, it was splat but not that graceful.
The sun was shining. We went for an early brilliant walk in the sun, but then everything went downhill. I had to fight with Eva about every little thing. When she flips the switch, she can be incredibly difficult.
Also, technology was not working well for us today. On multiple levels.
Day 16: Thursday, April 2
Today we visited our Old Man Park. It was a little hard to keep avoiding the other families, but we spent most of the time down by the water. Today was a much better day. We love this park. There was a lot of other things to be done, so we hadn't had much time for the post project.
Day 17: Friday, April 3
We begn today extremely ambitious. Jeff was ripping down a kitchen wall. He asked if we could vacate the house for most of the day. Well, we tried. We were a bit disappointed, because the day began colder than expected. We drove out to Sprague brook Park in Glenwood? Glendale? Somewhere out near KB. I did get a bit lost on the way out, but eventually we made it there. We hiked cautiously for about 40 minutes. Cautiously, because the place was so huge I did not want to get lost! We had lunch in the car, because Eva was freezing. Then we headed back.
Back to demolition central.
If I thought it was hard getting them to pay attention without construction going on, it was nearly impossible this day.
We struggled through, but it took us the majority of the day to get our studies done.
Then I had promised the ninos an obstacle course involving the bicycles, but there were saws and wood and nails all over my driveway.
Bummer.
Dyleva ended up hot tubbing it and we called it a night.
Day 18: Saturday, April 4
We love our cousins. Today we took a quick walk through our back path, and then we came home to paint our kitchen wall and cook a turkey dinner. Then our cousins came over! We had a lovely evening and the ninos were in the hot tub for a lot of time!!

Day 19: Sunday, April 5
Today we took a bike ride on the UB path. There were quite a few people that had the same idea, so we had to keep our distance.
We also started to put our kitchen back together.
The ninos finished up their weekly assignments and each found an activity to keep them busy. Dylan had so much fun creating a racer tunnel that spanned his two castles.
Eva began to design outfits out of clay. Truly creative!
Day 20: Monday, April 6
Eva continued with her clay work. She designed so many beautiful outfits. Unfortunately, a few burned in the oven. They were difficult to cook, because the heads were thick, and the bodies thin.
We hiked in Reinstein today, my favorite park. It was bizarre. The parking lot said 'If its full, enjoy us another day." It was busy, but not full. So we went in. But every entrance was roped off. Of course then, we went under. We could see other people hiking.
It was a beautiful day.
Unfortunately, it was one of those days, where everything that came out of Dyleva's mouth was toxic.
Annoying.
So we didn't stay long.
Day 21: Tuesday, April 7
What a beautiful spring day! Jeff has been working non-stop on projects but we dragged him away for a six mile bike ride through Clarence today. It was lovely!
Unfortunately on the way home, as we turned the corner, all the bikes fell off of the jeep.
Seriously.
Only Jeff's broke, but could you imagine if there were traffic behind us?
