Distance learning week 2

Day 8: Wednesday, March 25

Today we hiked the Lancaster Heritage Trail.  We got on, and were like, ew.  This is nothing special.  We got half way, and then listened.  The frogs were so loud!!!  I loved it.  The frogs' croaking created such beautiful music.  Dyleva really liked it.

Cousins and neighbors came over for a fire in the backyard.  One super positive awesome thing that has come out of the coronavirus, it that we have no traffic on our street!  I love it!  Dyleva ride their bikes up and down.  We put pylons out on the street.  We were drinking beers on top of the cars.  This was impossible before with people high tailing their ass around the corner to make the light.

Day 9: Thursday, March 26
T0day we went to the Pod.  We met up with Tiney and the boys and took a beautiful walk along the river.  It was such a nice day.  We went out to lunch and then did our work.

Later on that evening, I was playing soccer with Dylan.  Missed the ball, and kicked his leg.  I broke my toe.
FanTastic.

But heads up, Dave played acoustic live for the world.

Day 10: Friday, March 27

Today we took a lovely bike ride on the Heritage trail.  We went with Stephanie and Alexis, who learned how to ride the bike at our house the day before.

We ordered dinner from the Brew Pub.  It was really difficult to order...I guess that is good because the businesses are busy!

Day 11: Saturday, March 28

I felt restless!  What a great gift of time.  Jeff too, has been laid off at this point.  All of us together, let's get something done!  Dyleva and I rethought the colors for the kitchen, after my choices were SHOT down.

It's all good.  The ninos want beach tones.  Done.  We painted the hutch...blue.  Then we went to Glen Falls for a lovely hike.
It was a muddy hike!  We picked up a tour guide along the way.

And then, Yay for me!  Tio Chris made curry.  I was so excited!  And then we played twister.

Day 12: Sunday, March 29

We finished the hutch.  Ran a couple of errands.  Then we took a wonderful hike through Tift Nature Preserve.

Eva and I played a board game, and then!

We were challenged to a photo remake!

How cool it that?  Challenge accepted!

Day 13 : Monday, March 30

Super muddy, but we went behind the boardwalk at Steiglmeyer park.  They had wonderful trails.
For real, school was catching up to us this week.  We were all a little stressed.

We continued the photo remake contest with the kids.  Eva was super into it.

Day 14: Tuesday March 31

Today was the last day in the Star Wars marathon!  We were to rent the last episode: The Rise of Skywalker.
We also took a walk on the UB bike path.  It was empty, but pretty cool for a bike ride.

Distance Learning

I have often said, the worst thing I could have done was get my Master's degree.  Once we became "accustomed" to this type of living, it is difficult to down scale.

So even though the coronavirus is wreaking havoc on our world, I have essentially become a stay at home mom!

Day 1: March 18
We started small.  Hiked Mimi's bike path and did our homeworks.

Day 2: Mar. 19
Today we went to Pit park: AKA Meadow Lea.  Eva pouted and refused to participate.  Dylan sat silent and refused to do his ELA work.  Good times.
We began Star Wars marathon, Episode 1

Day 3: Mar. 20
Today was tough.  We woke to rainstorm, but warm rainstorm.  There was a lot of fighting to get Eva out of the house.  She complained the whole way to Akron Falls.  But upon arrival, the rain stopped and we discovered quite a bit of beauty.    Yeah! Today was Friday.  After homeschool, we had center time.   Finished the evening with Star Wars Episode 2.

Day 4:
Saturday.  Jeff was home today.  We all went to Como Park, Jeff knew all the trails.  Then we played dress up, and then the afternoon outside playing basketball.  Movie: Star Wars episode III.

Day 5: Sunday
Slow morning.  We all went to hike the eternal flame in Chestnut Ridge Park.  It was a beautiful, sunny; albeit cold, spring morning.
Unfortunately, many other people also had the same idea.  It was a lot of work to social distance.
We made it down, it was quite beautiful.
Later, we hung with the cousins in the sun!
slow morning

eternal flame behind Dyleva

Day 6: Monday
Oooh Mondays are tough.
Dyleva struggled through their assignments today.  Eventually we made it to the Clarence bike path in between raindrops.  We took a nice walk, and then had a better afternoon.  We had a little afternoon yoga.  The Star Wars Movie Marathon continued: Episode 5, or two.  However you count.

Day 7: Tuesday
We started the day with a spunky walk at Steiglmeyer Park- the boardwalks.  Then the ninos did their assignments.  Eva video conferenced with her teacher.  I made lasagna.  Yum!
We did a little basketball, and then Dyleva played with the neighborhood kids.
