"Oh." said Dylan.
"Can I go play now?"
He processes quicker than most.
Eva had a lot of questions, but she too, appeared fine.
Neither one of them had been super close with their grandma, but I didn't know what to expect, because we have been lucky enough to have never lost someone until now.
So I was relatively thankful that they seemed to have bounced back from the news.
But it wasn't until days later, that I realized that they too, must be coping on their own level.
Eva started following me around the house, a week later, babbling on about copying a photo.
Turns out she found a photo of me and my mom, and wanted to cut it up and put it in her locket.
It came out of nowhere. Very sweet.
Dylan also took me by surprise.
"Mommy, I need the long white thing."
???
"What are you talking about small child?"
"The thing that goes on the table."
"The runner?" I asked at the very odd request.
"Yes."
"Oooookay......"
The next thing I know he had 'decorated' our table because Grandma would have liked it.
Sometimes they just surprise you. Even though they are kids, they are processing in their own way as well.
