Every night I lay next to Dylan, and we say our rezas. He always wants to include his classmates. This is usually an opportunity for me to find out how things are going in his class.
"Mommy, Jack is not nice. He knocks my blocks down in the center. I don't go to that center now."
Dylan speaks slowly and still slightly delayed as he processes, so it takes him a while to express a thought.
"Dylan, I'm sorry. That's sad. If he keeps knocking friend's blocks down, no one will want to play with him. We should say an extra reza for him. It sounds like he needs it."
"And Mia says 'Go away now, go away now, go away now.' "
(My heart is breaking at this point that some little monster is being nasty to my baby...)
"So Mommy I gave her my special rock. And then she was happy and wanted to play with me."
(Awww...)
"But I still like Riley and Paige are my favorites."
That's my boy.
