One hour of ice time!

Tia Linda was kind enough to get Dylan an hour of ice time at LeCom for his birthday.  It took us a while to schedule it, but we decided to do it right before he went back to school. 

All his friends came except one poor player with a concussion. The boys had a great time, and then all met for dinner downstairs after.

End of Summer Blues

Beach! Beach!

 Every year the beach is unique.  This year it was a little different.  We only did two weeks, and the weeks did not line up with the cousins.  We did not have many guests.  It was peaceful and relaxing.  This is the first year I suspect we are outgrowing the cabin.  Space and storage were very tight.

Dyleva did go visit their cousins the week after.  We had calm, we had waves, we had wind, and we had black flies (the worst!)

 Here are some highlights!

Thirteen!!!

 For his birthday, Dylan wanted to spend it with his family.  He also picked out an elaborate dinner.  He wanted Beef Bourignon. I began in the morning.  I also made homemade mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, pulled pork, grilled corn, and cole slaw.

Dylan has grown so much this year! He is now taller than both Eva and me, and his feet are bigger than Jeff's.  Here is my photo of him turning 13:

Eventually, dinner guests began to arrive.  Dylan chatted with his uncles and aunts, swam, and played with his cousins.  

What a beautiful evening!

Dylan was serenaded by Papa's barbershop quartet.
