Always bittersweet since I lost mom, but if its up to me, we're hiking!

When I was growing up, my house was where everyone congregated. My mom liked it because she knew where I was, and she was cool so my friends liked being at my house.
Well, I don't know about the cool part, pertaining to me. But I would like to think that Dyleva's friends like hanging out at our house. We generally embrace fun over anything else (except safety) so I would hope they are comfortable here.
Our family decided to stay home for spring break. Jeff and I had a semi-elaborate NYC getaway we were going to take the kids on. Our family voted, 3-1 in favor of staying home.
Is that a bad thing to want to be at your home?
I think not. So I asked Dyleva to make a list of 3 things they would like to do over break---no promises!

Today is Wednesday. So far I think we have had an amazing spring break. Well, sort of...
It didn't start off well. Friday I came home from work, exhausted. Dylan had hockey something. Eva and I had a date with Titi.
We rented The Devil Wears Prada and Door Dashed. It was just what the doctor ordered! It was a great beginning to the week.
But when Dylan came home, he didn't feel well. He showered and then went right to bed, which is SO unlike him. Needless to say, he was sick most of the night.
Saturday, we chilled. We dyed eggs. A nice relaxing afternoon activity.
At night we went to see uncle Charlie in a production. He played piano for a local artist, who was amazing. It was at mini Sheas and it was beautiful!
Sunday Eva had a friend come over, and she had lasagna dinner with us.
Monday we went to the Polish Market. We took Eli, Dylan's bud and we met family there. We purchased some Dyngus Day supplies and had a great time!
After the market, the "neighborhood boys" played outside. It was nice out. Eva hung with her cousins, and then we had a pizza party with all the kids. We rewatched Grindelvald because later this week we will go see the new movie out!
Tuesday, Eli joined us the whole day! We picked up Gabby and took a bike ride for ice cream. The cousins joined us, it was a beautiful day! Gabby spent the night.
Today, I would like to hike and take Gizzy for some exercise. We have more exciting things planned for this doldrum week at home!
Every night, reviewing lines.
Stage positions, lighting.
Mikes. Make-up. Curls.
Eva has worked soooo hard and the weekend is finally here! She has 4 shows on Saturday and 4 shows on Sunday.
She is the Wizard for two shows, and ensemble for the rest.
This is by far the most intensive schedule she has had yet.
Break a leg Eva!

What a change from last year at this time!
We didn't even blink last year at this time when Dylan lost a game.
The amount that Dylan has progressed in one year is amazing!
After closing out most of the season, his team won the championship!
Dylan has not only improved his hockey skills, but more importantly he has learned how to contribute to the team, how not to be a sore loser, how to play a clean game, and most importantly to just try your best and have fun.
