A Disjointed Weekend

This stupid weekend resulted in SO MUCH conflict in our family.

No worries: it all turned out ok

BUT...

The battles we had getting here..?

Let's just say they weren't pretty.

It's October.
I love fall!
I love camping!
Every year my family goes to Alleghany to camp for Indigenous Weekend.

Last January, we all scattered the day of!  We got online, and BAM!  Reserved our cabins right away!  Three families together.  So excited!  Right on the creek.

Fast forward to June.  Apparently Dylan has a hockey tournament that weekend.

Let's just say this did not go over well in the Wagner household.

The Resolution: (Let's skip all the fighting in between!)
Dylan and Jeff left Friday morning for Pittsburgh.
Eva and I came home that afternoon and prepared for the weekend.

Dylan had a game Friday afternoon.  I watched.
Eva and I went out to dinner at fabulous Mexican restaurant.

Saturday
Dylan had a game early, which I watched from my bed (nice).
Eva and I left for Niagara on the Lake.
We got there around 1PM.  It was so beautiful!  All the flowers were still in bloom!  We had theatre tickets to see "Mother,Daughter."
It was unique; a one act play set in a gorgeous venue.  50 minutes of memorized dialouge played by two actors.  Lovely.

After that, we checked in to our hotel room.  Beautiful.
I watched Dylan's third game from there.  Eva rested.
Then Eva and I went out to dinner.  We had sushi.  Yum! Well, kind of yum and kind of "I don't know about that one..."

Then, (Eva's favorite part) we went shopping.  Oh, yes.  My credit card is feeling the pain.   Mostly xmas.  We had a really good time.  WITH MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER. Amazing.

Eventually, we made it back to the hotel.  Eva took advantage of some of the amenities.  We had a bit of a glitch with the TV, and had to call in support, but other than that we enjoyed each others company.

Sunday
Yuck, rain.  Yuck, go home. Wait....camping?

So.
The boss said, "If we go to the championship, we are not going camping."
Eva and I were on that last game like flies on..nevermind.

Meanwhile, Eva and I had two game plans, the win scenario and the lose scenario.

It wasn't long before we knew...
the lose scenario.

Yay!! We going camping!!!

Fast forward 3+ hours, we arrive at Alleghany, at the same time as Dylan and Jeff.  Our family is there! The is (sporadic) sunshine!)  Life is good for a second.

We have a great pudgy pie night together.  We battle some rain drops, but not too many. We settle in.
It is gorgeous there.  The creeek inhabited by my children.

The next morning we hike.  We breathe.  We survived this awful impass in our relationship.  We continue on.
