Look at the gorgeous field of flowers!
The weather is finally starting to get nice.
Thursday, April 30
It was warm and rainy. We all got soaked. Day by day.
Friday, May 1
We hiked a bit today.
Today the governor canceled school for the rest of the year.
Saturday, May 2
You know how sometimes when you watch the nature channel, and it shows the scientist spotting a rare animal in nature. He or she sneaks up closely, not to disturb anything. And just observes. The scientist photographs the site, and then just waits.
That is how I felt today. Dyleva were in the backyard. Working together. Holding hands. Froliching. I got up to see if frogs were falling from the sky, but no, just raindrops. So I photographed, did not disturb, and then just waited.
Amazing.
Earlier today, we went for a bike ride. Not just a bike ride, but an 8 mile bike ride. Jeff was a little late getting home today, and we were all a little testy because we were sure he was going to cancel. No way Jose.
Earlier, earlier than that, Dyleva made white trash with Tia Linda.
Some days are diamonds.
Sunday, May 3
Today we hiked the Heritage trail.
Today we had a birthday parade for cousin Bryan. He turned 25 years old. There were 72 cars, 2 police and a fire truck. We did 2 loops!
After cousins came over and we had a great hang out.
Monday, May 4
Today we went to Tift, and knocked out another one of our hikes from the challenge list. It was cool because we discovered the mounds; a part of Tift that we never knew existed.
Work done!
Had time to play today!
Tuesday, May 5
Happy birthday Tia Lisa!

What? She was six feet from me. |
It did not go over well that I served pasta for dinner tonight on Cinco de Mayo.
That is it. It is the little things we get excited about and look forward to. Our daily hike. Dinner. The nightly movie. And then we wake up tomorrow and do it again.
I love it.
No alarm clocks. No traffic. No behavior problems in the classroom. No having to go to the mall to buy a birthday present. No kids birthday parties!
I may be a little bah humbug antisocial but this is a simpler life and it is all I need.
I had to sign house documents today but we found a funky bike path right behind the office!
