This year Dylan wanted to be a part of Hobby/Talent Show night. He can be a little shy when it comes to speaking with new people, so I thought it would be a good opportunity for him.
I asked, a couple months ago, What do you want to share? I thought for sure he would have chosen Pokemon cards or legos....stuffed animals.
He chose rocks. His special rock and stone collection. Dylan had begun collecting a couple years ago. His interest increased when Grandma Candy gave him some very large additions to his collection.
So. Hobby night
Dylan had to be there early to set up. He had a half hour viewing before and after the Talent Show. The only problem was when we were working the table with his rock collection the Talent Show was mobbed; filled up; and we did not get seats.
Dyl had quite a turnout. Many people came by and asked him questions about his collection. When did he start collecting? Which rock was his favorite? Did he really get the shark teeth from a shark?
Nice job Dyl!

A Day at the Beach
"I thought we might take a drive to the beach," Jeff said casually one morning.
"Um...okay." After a wicked week of strong winds and snow, I can't say this would have been my first choice. But Jeff pointed out that the winds have been pushing the ice upon the shore.
So we did.
What a difference from our summer stomping ground!!!

Chalkbucket Challenge
My little guy has been doing gymnastics for three years now.
We put him into it when he began doing flips unattended and unassisted around the house.
We bought mats and enrolled him!
Lately, he has been saying he is done with gymnastics, and wants to move on to other sports, god help me.
So imagine my surprise, the day he comes home, and insists he wants to compete in a gymnastics challenge.
We did it. Stumpfs had brought in another school to compete with the boys. There were six categories. Dylan likes the vault the best. I like his floor performance the best.
He took first place! There wasn't that many competitors at his age level, but first place is first place!
Congratulations Dylan!
