Beach days! 2023

 We were here again for three weeks.  

This year the weather has not been ideal.  True, we always see all kinds of weather, but this year the sun has been intermittent.  

Our first week, Dyleva had friends over.  My sisters came up.  The second week this year, the cousins arrived.  The third week Dyleva had more friends and Tia Lisa returned.  

It has not exactly been a vacation environment with a teen and a pre-teen.  The weather has been unsettled and fun!

WEEK 1

The first day we arrived was as calm as could be.  Unfortunately, there was also an infestation of black flies.  We were praying for wind!

Our prayers were quickly answered.  The wind picked up, and didn't stop for over a week.  I barely went in the water because the waves were so large.  That didn't stop Dyleva, however.  

They both had friends down.  My sisters came to visit, then DING DONG.

Week 2

With the arrival of family, we had a lot of entertaining and a lot of waves.  The children got along fairly well.  Not having the best weather, we made the most of it.  

Week 2 included a hockey tournament that Dylan needed to leave the beach for.  We all left the last day to go support him.  His team won!!!

Week 3

Week 3 we began with Dyleva having friends out to the beach.  Mid-week the weather wasn't great so we took a day to hike.  It was the most beautiful forest.  Later on that day we visited Graycliff Estate by Frank Lloyd Wright.  There was a market and we toured the house.  It was something interesting and fun to do!

Friday, Tia Jenna came to the beach.  It was rainy and overcast, but we got some beach time in!  Then we made chicken parmesean for the family.  

Saturday was the most perfect last day.  It was sunny, it was warm, there were calm waves.  We took a paddle, played cards in the sun, swam.  The kids hung out with beach friends. 

A brisk storm passed through at dinner time, but then the sun came out, and we had most brilliant skies.
