My little rock stars!
Ok.
I don't want to be that mom, but I kind of am. I mean, I don't talk about my kids grades and oh they are so wonderful, blah, blah, blah. because ultimately I know that already. And I don't care really who else knows.
But, I would like to acknowledge the actions of a kind teacher that made the time to communicate with me about Dylan. She wrote me a letter.
I thought this was the sweetest thing, not only for Dylan, but what teacher has the time to do this?
This made my day!
I can't tell you how proud I am of Eva and her video abilities. Of course, it just might sound like a teenager on a cell phone, but it is a lot of work. She spends hours perfecting these videos that tell the stories of our adventures. Here are her greatest hits:
Cousins in Ellicottville/snow:
Cousins in Angola
Cousins in Alleghany
And for the newest one....you will have to read the post about our trip to NYC. Eva is truly talented in her video artwork!
It was a sad day in the Wagner house.
It was March 16. I asked Dylan what he was doing.
Practicing his trumpet.
Any other year he would have been scheming; with his sister at his side. Designing a plan to trap the leprechaun.
This year? Nothing. He's doing homework.
HOMEWORK!
What about the leprechaun?
Well apparently my children have rounded a corner without me. Here are some highlights from the good times....
Although they still ended up with gold coins in their lunch boxes.....
We had the evening together. We were going to dinner, but we thought first, let's go get our hair done!
Apparently, spontaneous beauticians do not work Saturday afternoons or evenings! We went to three different places, only to be turned away.
I eventually said to Eva, "Hey. You wanna cut my hair?"
She jumped at the chance. She did a great job. I think.
So people think dance moms are bad?
Whew....they haven't seen anything until they have met hockey dads.
And I, as a hockey mom/coache's wife, must always remain diplomatic. Which, if you know me, is not easy.
Things got ugly. I don't know why. Words were said. (Between parents and coaches....).
I don't know. We woke up one day, and I was informed that our time with that team had ended and that Dylan was now a Southtown Star! Go Stars!
Whatever. Dylan seems happy. Many of his friends are coming with him, and his dad gets to stay his coach.
Drama, drama, drama.
I sat in my car one day, preparing to drive to work, when I realized how ridiculously warm it was for February, the coldest year of the month.
We had no plans for February break. We normally find an ocean, but this year we moved that to April. I texted Jeff. "Do you want to take the kids to NYC next week?"
He texted back. "Yes."
Done. By the end of the day we had transportation and hotel reservations for NYC the next week. A previously undesirable location in the dead of February.
We had one stumble block in our plan. Dyl came down with a stomach virus the night before, before we were supposed to leave. It was bad. That poor baby's body didn't rest for 10 hours.
Luckily, other than weakness and exhaustion, he was ok to travel.
We took the train.
Our hotel was 2 NYC blocks from Penn Station. It was a great hotel. The room was not a closet, not that we spent much time in it!

Meg Ryan just went in an elevator and pushed a button.
There are interactive exhibits, stories to hear, photo ops, etc.
But the view is very cool. We summited just before dusk.
After the ESB, we had dinner reservations. I chose a trendy place midtown, not too $$$$$. I chose well. Food is delicious. I love to eat!
