In typical Dylan fashion, we have a play on words. He is studying Alexander the Great. I was trying to help him remember his fathers name.
"Come on Dyl. It's a man's name. Phil...."
"Philadelphia!" he exclaimed.
"No Dylan." Breathe. "Philip. Philadelphia is a city."
"Oh." He says nonchalantly. "I thought Phil was short for Philadelphia."
We were able to join the boys for their tournament in Pittsburgh. This for me, was a trip down memory lane since I have lived there twice. We left right after work on Friday. We arrived around 9:30 and there was quite an entourage waiting for us in the lobby!
It was a super fun atmosphere. Dylan began running around the hotel with his friends and Eva chilled in the room.
We had a really nice weekend. Dylan and the Warriors made it to the Playoffs. They had an excellent game. They made it to overtime, and had a shootout. Dylan was third. He missed, bummer. So much pressure! But they truly should have been proud of what they accomplished.
But during the weekend, Eva and I went to the science museum with friends. Later, we all met Jeremy out for dinner. He took us on a tour of the city.
It was bittersweet till the end.
Let's just say...we have all been through a lot! Let us continue strong and remember the lessons of what COVID has taught us. We have been given a rare gift to evaluate what is truly important in our lives. Peace out!
