Apple-pickin'

It was a beautiful autumn day.  Dylan had early hockey, and when he returned, we all went to get donuts.  After that, we journeyed to Smith's Orchard where Dyleva spent the morning climbing trees and picking apples!  I love apple trees because they are not that high, and the branches are thick and can support their weight.

There were many different varieties so we had to sample them all.  We ended up with 18 lbs of apples.  We have shared a bunch....but not quite sure what we will do with the rest.

Then we returned home and decorated for Halloween.  Tia Linda and Tio Pete came over for a fire and we watched Godspell, Eva's new play.

My shy children.

A Remote Beginning

This is a different sort of beginning this year.  Dyleva is starting the year hybrid; meaning every other day.  I am beginning from home to report two days a week.

I am excitied!  The kids don't care much.  I love being home.  The extra time from not commuting; not having to be there early.

And from Dyleva's perspective...no homework.  No early bedtimes every night or alarm clocks every morning.  I think this break will be wonderful for us.
