Indy

Feeling the love during the car ride

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving in IndianĂ¡polis with Jeff's cousins.

We had an amazing time.  Some of us had too amazing of a time.

We left for road trip Wednesday after school.  We arrived in Columbus and spent the night.  Other cousins met up with us and we had fun hotel party!

We began our morning with toddies and Thanksgiving Day parade.

This is Dylan greeting the cousings from the window.

Once we arrived we toured the casita de Archer.

Dyleva was pretty excited.  They had one room dedicated to only legos.    Legoland, if you will.

We had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner.  What incredible preparation was needed to cater this event.  There must have been at least 30 people in thier home.  Many staying overnight.

The cousins had a lot of fun hanging out together.  We had a night out and a dance party upon return.

Maybe it will become an annual getaway?

Bees and Leaves

We began our Veteran's Day with our cousins.

I set up centers for them!  Eva and Lola chilled in the yoga center, while Dylan and Emmy were creative in the art center.  We also had a building center, a restaurant center, and a library center.

Later, we went out in the wind storm to play in the leaves.  We have been waiting all autumn for the leaves to drop!  Finally!  We had enough to jump in!

Later, Dyleva played a very intense game of Hide and Seek inside the house.  It began outside, in the leaves, (the pile was home free), and continued into the house.

I swear it is the quietest my children have ever been!

After much debate, we decided to take Dyleva to some Busy Buzzy Bee place at the mall.

Wow, Let me say it again.
Wow, did I get my exercise.

When we arrived, we learned parents had to pay extra to enter.  As in- I can ditch my kids and go?

So.  Wait a minute.  I can pay for my small children to enter, and then go drink across the mall?  It was decidedly irresponsible.

The lovely lady at the door then informed me that parents can go everywhere that the children can.
Yes, tunnels, ropes, slides, etc.

!!!Fun!!!

My ninos shot through those tunnels like a bullet from a gun. Seriously, I think, "Wait for Mommy!" was the catchphrase of the night.
And I wasn't being overprotective- I was quite content to sit on my keester and watch them run around me.  They insisted I participate, so ok, sure.

But my body, now 40, does not move so easily through tiny tunnels and narrow corridors at a fast pace.  In the time it took me to climb to one of the top slides, Dyleva had passed me and gone down 3 times already.

I feel old.  Bees and Leaves.  I am definitely not the bee.
But Dyleva had an awesome time.
