Spinny things

Dylan brought home from Doodle a craft they created that day.  It was a string with shapes on it.

He was so excited to show me the 'spinney things.'

"Mommy, Watch!"

He grabbed one and started whipping it around.  But you should have seen the face he was making as he did it; it was so funny!

"Which one is the fastest?"  So I watched all of the spinning things whip around until I could decide.https://plus.google.com/113530525965696642919/posts/YjpRtsffR19

When Mimi is happy...

This summer during "Mommy School," one of our goals was to write a book in Spanish.

Here is Eva's first Spanish book!

Marley is happy when he gets his hair cut.

Marley is happy when he receives a snack.
Marley is happy when he goes swimming.

Mimi is happy when other dogs are around.  (You ate bacon last night.)

Mimi is happy when no one is home.

Mimi is happy when he is at the beach.

Mimi is happy when we go places.

Mimi is happy when he goes on the bicycle path.

Mimi is happy when Daddy arrives home.  (What's for dinner?)

Dylan's Snack

I am driving Dyleva home today, second day of school.  Dylan asks me for his backpack.

I haul it over the seat.  He is digging for something, pulls out his lunchbox, and says "Here, Eva.  I got this for you today."

What?  I look over, and he's handing her one of those fruit by the foot snacks.

"Dylan, where did you get that?"  I asked curiously.

"I bought it today Mommy."

In three years, I have prepaid milk money for Eva.  Never once has she used it to buy something else.

SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL, and the boy is already shopping!

So I ask, "So they just let you buy it?"

"Yes."  He states so proudly.  "I wanted to help you so now you didn't have to make us a snack after school.  And I wanted to bring something home for Eva."

I have the sweetest little boy in the world.

First day!

As far as first days go, this one went rather well.  We had backpacks lined up.  Clothes picked out.  We woke up nice and early, and stopped at Horton's for a post-breakfast snack.

When we got to the school, there were kisses all around, (but no tears).   Eva walked her Little brother to his kindergarten classroom.  Then when she returned, we walked her to her second grade classroom.

And just like that it was over.  My babies are all at school.  : (

The Boring Park

My Little stinkers.  They are so spoiled.  So we wanted to take them today somewhere new.  A new adventure!  And they whined, and complained.

"No!"  Dylan complained.  "I don't want to go there.  It's BORING!"

Really?

Okay, so it was an hour in the car...but it was worth it!

When we arrived we hiked for a bit, and then encountered the most amazing sculptures!

Dyleva climbed most of them,  played hide and seek.  We had a lovely picnic in the middle of the park.  Then we hiked some more.  We found towers, a maze, and played charades with the statues.

It was a beautiful, boring, afternoon!
